Ditto,
Lexol works fine for me. It's sticky for a few hours after use. I use a white cotton towel, and notice no color coming off the seats. |

Note to Muskie
Muskie, ):
"Buy the best and only cry once!" If you are in the Mercedes Benz Club of America. www.mbca.org -- the Leatherique folks give you a discount. "The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the cheap price is forgotten!" Best regards, |

My $.02
I have used a number of leather products on a lot of cars (Mercedes, BMW, Rolls Royce, etc.) and can't say enough good things about Leatherique. While my 300CE is pretty low miles (72,000) and well cared for, it's still 8 years old and had 8 years of accumulated dirt. I "restored" the interior with Rejuvinator Oil and then cleaned it with Prestine Clean. The seats are as soft and supple as the day the car rolled off the line.
The trick is to really let the Rejuv Oil "bake in". The first time I used it I only gave it 3-4 hours and wasn't too impressed. I now follow the sage advice of posts to this Forum (as well as the advice of Leatherique) and bake it for at least a full day. The difference is remarkable! [Strange how following the directions improves the result]. My advice - pay for a quality product and put in the time to use it correctly. The results will speak for themselves.

I haven't used the dye yet. All of my comments refer to the Rejuv Oil and Prestine Clean.
Unfortunately, I now have a stratch (I tried to keep the kids out of the car, but that just didn't work) that requires a dye fix. I'll be doing the work some time in the next week and can update based on my experience.

Anyone else besides Muskie531 use Meguiars? How does it stack up to Leatherique?

I waited for a sunny day, covered the seats with garbage bags (primarily so the oil doesn't evaporate before it has soaked in) and left it in the sun all day. The other advantage of the garbage bags is that you can move the car without soaking up all of the oil in your clothes.
I don't know about the hair dryer, the sun should be enough even in Michigan (I'm in Atlanta so I've still got decent weather).

I used Leatherique Oil and Cleaner over the weekend. The results were pretty good, the seats look a little lighter in color, and one slight surface crack is now undetectable as all the dirt is out of it. My seats were near mint to begin with, so hopefully I can keep them that way with this stuff.
By the way, how long does that orangey smell last for???

About a week to 10 days. But then the last time I used Rejuv I really loaded up everything and let it "bake" for about 24 hours. So it may not take that long depending on how long you let it soak in.
I tried the dye on a scratch in the underside of my arm rest this weekend. I'll check back in and discuss results next week.

Good product, I KNOW...
I live in Orange Park Florida. Home of Leatherique products. I went to a demostration for the local chapter of the MBCA. It is a family run business but, their products are out of this world. After I saw the demostration, it made me a believer. Those of you that think their products are expensive, after you see the RESULTS, you will not be dissapointed.
I do not have any relationship with Leatherique, just giving my personal opinion for the benefit of the group.

As promised, I used the dye last weekend and wanted to report the results. At first it appears as if the newly dyed area is terribly dull. But I followed directions (which goes against my basic nature) and waited 48 hours before I buffed the material.
Terrific results! I guess it's like polishing your shoes on some level. It stays pretty dull until buffed. In any event, I can't tell the dyed area from the rest of my arm rest. Looks like the dye delivers the same high quality results as their other products.

Hey Muskie531!
To answer your question, they brought a seat from an used auto recycler. It was a very "weathered" seat, after a large spot treatment, the difference of that spot to the rest of the seat was like night and day.
The application was with bare hands, they mentioned their product is not toxic (I would not drink it, though!). Very nice people, you won't be disappointed!
