Debadging a 20+ year old car
I know some people don't like debadging a car or think it is somewhat ricey but I have always had euro cars and always removed the badges. That said, I imagine pulling the badges from an 87 is not going to go as smoothly as pulling the badges from a 2 or 3 year old car.
I got a feeling a lot of paint will come off with the adhesive. So if I do decide to pull the badges what options do I have to fix the spots? Touch up paint and then buff or smooth it some how? any thoughts? Or should I just not bother with the stinking badges.

I don't know that paint will come off but you will see an outline of the badge, which you might be able to get out by wet sanding and polishing, very risky stuff though, especially on clearcoat. You're in better shape if it's single stage paint. Proper touch up work would include at least whole back panel if not the whole trunk, which is probably faded, so best to paint the whole car, or actually better to just leave the badge.

You will have fading and see an outline. It's really not worth the hassle.
