To tint or not to tint

My black coupe just begs for window tint, whats your advice? Ive never owned a car with this color ,Ive noticed all black vehicles have tint,Im serious ,every one. Not too dark is my preference ,so if its a tint to hit the windows it wont be a limo .

Dave, being in Houston especially, tint those windows!!! It not only looks better but will drop your inner temps close to 20 degrees and prevent UV damage also.
I also concur on the limo tint. You cannot see out at night, and even in the daylight your vision is quite compromised.......
35% front, 20% rear. Ralphie recommended this to me and he was dead on.

I had a black car once (never again!) and it came with window tinting. I couldn't stand it and took it off. I do understand why it would be desirable in a sunny climate, and I also know that it doesn't bother some people the way it bothered me. Maybe you should try to drive a tinted car under daytime and nighttime conditions before you decide.

Well meet me and my black coupe that does NOT have tint. Why would I need it?

To keep out the San Francisco fog?

So I can see worse at night?

For the ricer "mystique" look?

To anger and scare the cops if they pull me over?

So tinted windows give you a ricer "mystique ". Most off base thing I've ever seen you post. Big fat American cars have been getting their windows tinted for years. It prevents UV damage to interior, keeps the interior cooler and prevents the feeling of inhabiting a fish bowl.
Of course some folks don't want the view obstructed of anyone who might see them in their car.....

i will tint mine when I get it painted. the sun here ruined the top of the rear seat it is so strong. I will get it fairly light in front and darker as it goes back. my excursion is tinted similarly and it does not obstruct noticably at night

Window down and hands on the wheel, just like in a car without tinted windows. The one and only time I was ever pulled over was at night in a car with tinted windows. I even turned on my dome lamp for the guy, and he thanked me for it!

Definately go for it. Even if you get a 5% tint, it will still keep out a good percentage of UV.

Mine came with it (from FL)

Not sure what percentages it has, but the back is pretty dark. It helps in the summer!

Tint helps in the summer but don't skimp on quality! Use a shop that has great reviews and doesn't use some kids getting $10.85 an hour to work after school.

Besides the cool/UV factor I think tint makes the car look lot better from the outside. No matter what color car but black is a must to have tint or it's baked. Ugly white is the one I hate on any car but with black tint looks acceptable.

I much prefer a car that has tint. I have a dark 95 E300 with tint and it looks really good. It also cuts the heat down considerably. I have 5% on the 3 back and 35% on the fronts.
