How to clean smoke residue from leather?

I purchased a E55 with two tone seats (Gray & Black). The Gray sections look a little dingy as if the car had been smoked in however the owner I purchased it from didnt smoke and car doesnt smell of smoke. I have wiped the seats down with a cloth using leather cleaner and the cloth does pick up some dirt but I am wondering about using a Random Orbital Buffer on the seats to speed the process up. Has anyone tried this or have a suggestion? I want the gray/black contrast to look clean!

Hey Austin, that sounds like a great car! No, I have never used a buffer on leather, and I would be reluctant to try it, for fear of generating too much heat on the leather. The conventional treatment for the problem of soiled leather upholstery is just what you've apparently already done, although you can also safely scrub with a detailing cloth with lukewarm water/Woolite mixture and wipe dry with a clean cloth. The scrub cloth should be rung out, not dripping wet, for use on leather. Then followup with Leatherique or Lexol conditioner when you are satisfied that you have removed as much soiling as possible.

I detail for a living, and doing so, I ALWAYS use "Stoners Invisable Glass" yes, i said it, window cleaner (ammonia free) on leather, mbtext and anything else of the sort.

I spray freely, let sit for approx 30 seconds, then wipe with microfiber cloth, after it dries, apply leather conditioner.
