D@#$IT, now I have to learn how to sew!??

how exactly do I go about fixing this.. there are no parts wagons around near me, and I am certainly NOT shipping a rear seat.

How can I harvest the 'horsehair' pad from another model?

Do I really have to sew all those little channels back together to avoid the slop in pic #1??

*this is a rear wagon seat, the removable type. The green pad is split down the center, but the springs look good.

You need need to re-stich all the pleats. The canvas backing has deteriorated to the point the foam strips that create the pleats are hanging free. The horse hair pad does not get attached to the seat cover. You should be able to reuse it. I would add a small (1/4) layer of foam between the vinyl cover and the pad.

Why didn't I search first?... nice DIY Chad.. maybe there's hope for my seat after all.
What does stuffing the spring space achieve?

My concern about the green stuff is that it provides the backbone for the upper cushioning. Is this wrong? With it broken ,the soft stuff up top would just cave in and rip the new stitches out.. no?

I firmed up the seat by re-weaving the springs and repositioning their anchor points. This holds the green stuff up better and prevents it from caving into the seat. My GF will be sewing the vinyl...hehe
