rubbing alcohol on a heavier terry cotton towel, or microfiber should do the trick

I also suggest in the future, using painters tape to cover up the trim...

Turtle wax ice is good stuff...

Use IPA, available at your local Walmart or pharmacy. I use a chemically resistant sprayer head and spray the area with the IPA, let dwell for 30 seconds or so, before you see it starts to evaporate. Wipe with a micro-fiber towel or cotton towel, and it shoudl come off easily.

This is a trick also when purchasing a used car. If possible, spray panels in question with IPA and wipe off with aformentioned medium to reveal true condition of the paint surface. A must if the vehicle looks like it's had the Armor All treatment, and looks too good to be true. The IPA will remove most if not all waxes/sealants bonded to the paint surface.

(and you wouldn't have to worry about the squirrls with all the dogs and such. Then maybe to get rid of the dogs, I'd use a box of kittens somehow, maybe a hawk or something after that, then Chaney maybe? Just watch your face?) Its noon somewhere isnt it?

Well I guess that explains this picture then.

I have used Back to Black and found that it works really well cosmetically. I think it absorbs into the rubber trim.

I also saw a picture, maybe it was on this forum, of a guy who took a hair dryer to his faded rubber bumper and kind of remelted the rubber back to a nice black finish. It may have been a heat gun. The result looked great but I would approach this method with an abundant amount of caution and if working around a painted body panel, would tape some aluminum foil over the paint to protect it from the heat.

wax on trim

I use Forever Black from Performance Products and it covers just great. It works best on bumper trim and door handles. If you get any on paint or chrome remove it immediately or you will play hell getting it off once it dries. Bill.

so far the best responses have been pressure wash and boiling hot water.

of course it depends on whether it was regular wax, or Sex Wax

^ If this works, it'll take off all the wax it touches.

Just hit it with a power washer at the quarter car wash and your problem will be solved!

If it is what I think it is then get yourself a really good paint brush...cut the bristles as close to the handle as you possibly can and then using a pushing and painting motion go back and forth over the residual waxy areas.

My detailer used to use this method and I now have a one and two inch brush in the garage for when the dried out wax appears.

Let me know if this helps.
