Leather care expertise required!

Dear All,

In an earlier thread I asked if my seats were leather or not

Is this leather of MBtex?

They are!

Following the advice in my last thread I got some Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner (can't get Leatherique here in the Netherlands) and I've started working on the back seat.

There are, however, two stains on the seat that are refusing to budge. (See attached photographs)

Does anyone know what I need to do to get rid of them without damaging the leather underneath? Should I just keep going with the cleaner... ?

I don't think they are burns - they could be oil as the back seat was recently removed to gain access to the rear suspension (not by me)

Any ideas?

Any help will be greatly received!

I don't think they are stains. Looks more like worn finish. Personally I like a line of products called Leather Therapy, which seems to be available to you. http://www.leathertherapy.com/index.php?main_page=search_store
You can try to custom mix some leather dye and try to blend a fix. Not sure if you have automotive stores that specialize in leather dye/paint. If so they can do a custom mix using a CCD camera and computer.

BTW if the top of the back seat is getting stiff and dry, you can pull it and add some leather therapy restorer oil to the back side. It will work quicker than trying to get the oil to absorb through the finished side.

Thanks for the tips pmari I'll see if I can find someone near by who can take a look at it (at a reasonable price - wish me luck!)

Looks like a worn finish... so your only choice would be refinishing it or living with it. For DEEP cleaning or leather and vinyl, Magic Clean Erasers are just awesome. Just be careful with them and don't go overboard, scrubbing away.
