Armrest Removal?

Can anyone tell me how to remove the armrest on an '82 300 TD? I saw one post mentioning that the panel on the back of the seat needed to be removed in order to remove the armrest. Is this true, or is there an easier way?

There should be one screw at the bottom middle of the seat back panel. Then it slides down and out. On the inside of the seat you should see a fairly large nut holding the armrest on.

One or more screws on the bottom, but you'll see once you get it off.

Later models might have 2 screws on the back panel. I might be wrong. Then you can see the big nut inside.. A socket will help...
