W210 Grab Handle
 

Hi,
I have a 1996 E300D that has an interior that is in excellent condition, save the grab handles on the door panels:-(...all of them have had the fabric twisted and are in various states of unsightly disrepair. I have checked with the dealer and the parts are still available..that's the good news...the bad news is that they cost approx. $90 each...and I need 4!

After removing one of the door panels and the grab handle, I noticed on the back that there is a plastic plate where the material was tucked in at the factory. I am wondering if it might be possible to have an upholstery shop replace the fabric on the grab handles & make it look like new perhaps at a price that is more reasonable than nearly $400.

Any thoughts?
