When I removed mine, I borrowed an attachment for my drill from a body shop friend, took it off lickety split. Tried all the suggestions I read here in the archive first, and after half an hour of slow progress I was glad my buddy showed up with that thing. The rest of the car took maybe twenty minutes. It's a rubbery wheel that "erases" the stripe; 3M started making it but now you can get one at a reasonable cost - do a search for "pinstripe removal". I think even Harbor freight Tools sells one now.
