Over the last couple of years, I 've contacted a number of upholstery suppliers and the like to try to find a new carpet set for my 300CE. It's been a losing effort until recently. Apparently, the molded carpet set in the 124s requires special patterns which MB has not released to the world at large and will only sell at high prices. GAHH and World Upholstery have both attempted sewn versions as replacements, but the experiences must have been bad as neither will attempt one anymore.

Carpet kits are available directly from MB for about $1400 MSRP. You can get them in any color you like so long as its black.

Anyway, I recently stumbled on an outfit called Fryers Auto Upholstery in Washington State www.autoupholsterykits.com. They claim to have a molded carpet supplier who has the pattern for both W124 and C124 models. The cost of a full passenger compartment kit ranges from $293 for cut pile carpet to $578 for German velour. Color options are extensive in their stock colors, but not in the velour. I'm waiting for samples of the two velour colors they offer, Cinnamon and Palomino. It's not MB OEM Palomino color, but hopefully it is similar.

I was wondering if anybody on the forum knew of any other possible suppliers or has had any experience with this Fryers outfit. Grateful for any information at all.

I went ahead and ordered a carpet kit for the CE today. Just in case it turns out to be a crap fit, I ordered it in cut pile instead of the velour. I'll report back on the quality.
