Hey Army, I'll try to get some pics this weekend, if no rain and good batteries, and the number 1 ingredient "motivation" all come together..........

Army, I guess it all came together. Here's those pics of the gloss under the bonnet. I apologize for the specks of dust and what have ya. Lot's of wind here today, (20- 35mph). It's hard to keep Black pristine with all the pollen and wind. The brush marks are from the factory sealant you were speaking of. I've not retouched anything. That greenish tint you see is the sunlight bouncing off the trees and grass all around me. This car is 23 yrs old and that is Original paint. Enjoy.............

Wow that looks great - may be I should have gone for shiny gloss after all... oh well too late now. May be in another life!

could it be a "wash primer" or "etch primer"? i just came across these terms in a little '70s handbook on paintwork i read.
