Question Product for simple washing between waxes

My newly purchased 560sl has a great wax job, thanks to the selling dealer. From reading here, looks like products like Dawn are used to remove wax prior to redetailing and waxing the car. What do people use for simple washes, when they don't want to spend the day redoing the finish. Or am I asking the wrong group?! Thanks.

I use P21S car wash in between detailing. However, I find myself detailing the cars quite a bit especially in the warmer months. The Zaino wax system holds up quite well and only takes a few minutes to touch up the shine and keep it going between major waxing.

In reality, any liquid soap made specifically for washing a car will do just fine. If you want to spend a little more, Meguire's Gold is one of the best.

If you want to prolong the wax job and protect the finish, use a product like Meguire's Quick Detailer after you wash and dry. I like Eagle One Wet Detailer, but both work well.

There are actually quite a fair bit of products out there that claims to wax and wash. One ought to choose carefully as the last thing you need on a newly waxed paint is streaking.

I use a simple cheap wax and wash shampoo but never allow it to stay on for longer than it should, i.e. rinsed immediately. But most times, its just plain ole water.

I agree with Kerry, you don't need one that waxes too, just plain soap. I also get what's on sale at Walmart or Pep Boys. You might also want to invest in a couple of 100% cotton chennile or sheep wool mits. You can get the sheepskin ones for about $6.00 at Wallmart.

Get two. Use one on the flat surfaces and the other on the sides, grill ect. That way you are not spreading the grit fron behind the wheels on the flat surfaces.
