560SL Seats
86 560SL with the side of the leather seat worn off from sliding in. Locale shop wants $1800 to replace the leather! Ouch! The area is about 3 inches ling by 2 inches wide. Is there a way to repair this, or is replacement in order? Also, I've seen prices for leather replacements and MB-TEx replacements - any preferences? Is this a DIY?

contact the people at www.leatherique.com they may help you. They don't just sell leather cleaner, they also do a lot of restoration type stuff.

Also try Bill Hirsch. He makes replacement leather seat covers for about $ 380. 1-800-828-2061.

Found the covers, now need advice before I do this. Are there any surprises I may find trying to replace the covers and horsehair on an 86 560SL?
