Dave

I too am in need of this miracle solution to all my many failed efforts to remove the oxidation on the chrome trim. If you are still in possession of this formula I will send you the money as soon as you reply.

Thank you

Arrow What happened here???????

This is the oddest thread! It just stopped.

Everybody was so fired-up about this Green Magic, was mailing off their $20 to Dave, and was waxing eloquent about the good results on their oxidized chrome trim.

And then: SILENCE.

Did the product continue to perform satisfactorily? Did the supplier vanish?

If the chemical agent is still available, how can one obtain it (aside from sending Dave off to the flea market every week ) Did the seller ever market the stuff more broadly???

Please provide an update to those who stumble onto this thread and feel like they've encountered a black hole

Thanks!

Well from where I am sitting in the world, its like this. I have shipped about 20 bottles of the stuff and have gotten feedback from about 6 people. The results have been mostly positive, one or two were dissapointed. And thats all I know. I have a few bottles in stock then I need to find more. There were two requests to ship overseas but that requires more time than I am willing to put in. I have a real job, sorry guys. Maybe some of the people that have used the stuff would report the results in this thread. I have to say that I am amazed on the number of views this thread has had.

Sorry Dave,

I haven't actually tried it out yet because I don't own one of those dremel tools. They're pretty expensive. Maybe I'll try some by hand this coming Sunday to see if it does anything. I'll let you know what happens. I'm sure it will make that 22 year old aluminum look a lot better!!

That's one of the things I like the most about this Forum. People helping others out for for many reasons, the biggest one being a common love for these great cars!

Thanks again, Dave

Dremel

I have had a Dremel for about a month or so now, and of course I have been to WalMart looking over all the little bits they have for it. It's also one of those "If you have one, you'll know what I mean" situations, really. They have a cleaning/polishing set Model #684, and in there, they have the cloth wheel, felt wheels, and some polishing compound, etc. Along with these, they have this one polishing bit, #520, that is already impregnated with some sort of compound.

It's grey, cylindrical like the wheel suggested for the Green Magic, and according to the pamphlet it's just abrasive enough to remove slight surface imperfections. Tried it on some jewelry at various speeds and achieved the same results as the photos supplied in reference to the Green Magic. The only residual is this slight gray-to-black stuff that wipes off very easily.

Has anyone ever tried this particular wheel, or even know about it? So far I have only found it in the set, and not separately, but most likely it's available separately someplace else.

Just wondering...

Here is what I have found to be best. They are available at:

http://www.mcmaster.com page 2471. When the home page pops up, type in the page number then click "find".

I have clipped that page for you to see. I have found that the medium felt cylinder works best, but different trim pieces might need other shapes to do a good job. They are cheap enough that a small assortment would not break the bank.

On hind sight, I should have probably supplied the buffing wheel along with the Green Magic.

Sorry, I posted back b/4 reading all of the posts, too excited I guess.

Do you have any of the Green Magic still available? Is $24.00 with shipping still the cost.

Thanks

Dave,

Thanks for the info on where to buy the hardware and which pieces you recommend. I figure I'll be able to use the Green Magic on a lot more than just the 123!

I'll post when I get out there and try it out.

TX Flee Market Thing?

dpetryk (Dave) guess it's a TX flee market thing - found the cleaning/waxing guru at the FM and bought some GM. Guess it's the same 8 oz bottles (237ml). Does work well but couldn't resist having the chem guys take a look at what it is. Magnesium Chloride and Lactic Acid ( 60%<>)are the "active ingredients" so that's what makes it work the rest are inert stuff like surfaculants.
The only cautionary advise that I was given is keep it away from glass, stainless steel (guess it will stain it), fiberglass and ceramic.
Kool stuff - works nice. Even bought some "buffalo milk"

My .02 cents
