Bumper rash touch-up

Touch up on bumper rash
So this past week, we parked in a very tight parking garage and I managed to scrape the bumper on an inside wall. So now it has a pretty visible scrape.

I'm looking at this bumper spray product for touch up purposes.

Good/bad idea?

It's on the plastic bumper corner, so I'm assuming the regular factory clear-coat touch up stuff might not work.

Thanks,

Chuck

If the scrape is into the bumper material you'll need to apply some light body glaze compound and lightly sand it. The scratches will always show through if you don't.

What body car is this on? If it's a W123 then you can try a mr clean magic eraser... Sounds crazy but it works.

Sorry I didn't specify, this is on my E300D '99, with the plastic bumper. I ended up doing what Mike D suggested and got some glaze/bondo and coated and sanded it. Then used the bumper spray (Krylon for plastic, in black, since my car is black and so is the bumper). You can see the texture of the bondo somewhat upon close inspection which probably means I didn't sand enough!

Thanks for the Dr.ColorChip suggestion. The site looks pretty infomercially, like "wonder" snake oil, but may be worth a try!

It's the Langka system [With a few added $ signs]

http://www.langka.com/index.php

With some sort of Accelerator in their "Touch Up" Paint to make drying time shorter.
(AND Langka's 5 minute drill)

If I were gonna try this way..I'd just get the Langka "Blob Eliminator" and
use Official MB Touch Up Paint.
