Which Zaino products are recommended?
I've read all the constant praise for the Zaino car care products and would like to buy what's necessary to wax my car/s. I went to the website and noticed that they offer atleast 15 items and wanted to ask you guys if all of them were necessary. I have swirl marks, light scratches and oxidation so I would like to buy what's needed to get rid of or cover all of that (or as much of it as possible). Do I need the pre-wax? Do I need the Zaino car shampoo? Is their clay bar recommended? Thanks for the help. I'm getting excited to try out this stuff that everyone says is so great.

Zaino Advice for DieselHead!
Yes, Zaino has a long list of products and many are necessary and many are not!
I would take the following steps prior to using Zaino anything! 1) Wash the car with Dawn Dish Detergent 2) Use any Good Swirl/Scratch Remover/Cleaner and take your time putting it on and taking it off. If you don't see good results after a fender or two the cleaner is no good! Go get another one. I like a product sold at Pep Boys called Swirl Remover it does a great job! It is made by Wax Man! 3) After a thorough cleaning wrap your fingertips with Plastic Wrap and rub lighltly over the car finish. I f you do not feel any grit you do not need to clay. 4) If the test in 3 is smooth apply Zaino PrePolish with ahe Zaino Applicator. 5) Apply Zaino Z5 for swirl and scratch if you have a clear coat on your car. Directly over the Z1Pre-Polish! 6) Use Zaino #5 again and again until you are satisfied that the paint has few if any scratches and the shine is to your liking. 7) Now apply as many coats of Z2 as you want over the Z5 and you will be a happy dude. 8) Should your test in 3 above demand that you clay, buy the clay and the spray on Zaino Shine enhancer. Use the enhancer to lubricate the clay and follow all the directions that Zaino gives you for claying. After Claying do the test again with the Saran Wrap. If no grit go ahead as I stated in step #5. Based on the above you should buy: Zaino Applicator Pads Zaino Z1 Zaino Z2 Zaino Z5 If you need to clay add the following: Zaino clay Zaino Shine enhancer spray! I also like the smell and quality of the Vinyl enhancer for my dash and MB TEX.

Tom,
I take it you don't use the Shine Enhancement Spray between coats of Z2 or Z5? I haven't, in the past, but just ordered some since it sounds like it somehow enhances the gloss, or at least cuts down on dust attraction. Have you used it this way?

Zaino gloss spray? you guys are talking about Z6 i take it. I use it between apply coats but not between washes. the way it works with me is, a very fine dust, dirt, etc. is on the surface of the paint, if your not careful using Z-6 or whatever yo ucould cause scratches, yes your supposed to use little pressure and turn towel frequently but i just dont even bother with it.
for claying use zaino car wash (1/2-1 cap) per 16 oz water. this will work better than z-6! and its cheaper. Using Z6 and claying wont do any good cause you are going to wash the car down with dawn afterwards anyway then apply z-1 plus its not as slippery as car wash. |
