Some W123's had the orange foam padding instead of the horsehair pads. Grab the pads and transfer them over to your car. This is only for the bottom cushions of front seats, however. The backrests and rear bottom cushion are all horsehair padding.

I wouldn't go to a fabric shop for the foam. Go check with your local auto upholsterer. I use their special, high density foam. It's pricey, about $20 for a 2' X 4' sheet but well worth it.
I double up on the seat pad but just go single sheet on the backs. There is enough trimmings left from the doing the bottoms to stuff the head rest. |

Thanks for the replies. I'll head to a shop we use to do some boat upholstery. I have the foam seat bottoms. But it's the top that's bad. Do I just pull the hogrings off put foam in and re hog staple it? Are there any DIYs or photos out there?

Yup, I hog ring it back in. I've used glue but it doesn't allow the foam to adjust/slip in the fashion the hog rings do. I do use glue to secure any doubled pieces together.
