Unhappy faded carpets...

I have an 83 300SD with the dark brown interior. Much of the carpet has turne to like this lime/puke greenish color, and is quite unatractive. Other then this, the carpet is very soft and nice, its just it looks like crap. Are there any DIY dies that are worth anything? is there anything that can be done? thanks
Ryan

Check here: http://vinylpro.safeshopper.com/index.htm?185 under carpet dyes. Read their whole bit. SEM aerosol vinyl dye is probably known to most of you as the "standard" for our old MB door panels, dashes and consoles(ask any dismantler). I have used this outfit's carpet dye also, and found that when they say pick a shade darker, they mean pick a couple of shades darker. It worked fine but coverage isn't the same as when you use SEM on vinyl. Hope that makes some sense. Take care

A friend of mine who restores cars for a living used to use a mixture of Glamoine carpet cleaner and Rit dye. It wouls restore the color and freshen the carpets pretty well.

I don't know if Glamorine is still around.
