New seat cover problem

The new, MB, leather seat cover I just put on my 380sl has a cardboard hem that fits Into a metal groove that surrounds the seat, However, every time I sit down, the downward pressure pushes the cardboard out of the groove. So I was wondering if someone could tell me the best way to secure it.

Thanks in advance.

Did you fold it back over onto itself before you pushed it into the slot? If that doesn't work you could gently crimp the slot so that is a bit tighter.

Ooops! No! I didn't know I had to, and it's too late now, since I can't stretch it any more than I did already.

What's the best way to do that?

Thanks in advance.

The easiest way I found to tuck the edge in is to sit in the seat. That compresses it and pushes the cover down a bit. The heavier you are the easier it is.

You can still fold the edge back under with the cover on the seat.
