Center Console switches

Hi all. I'm new to this Merc. stuff but just got a good deal on a 96 S600 Some switches in the center console hsve been pushed in and the previous owner tried to pry off the shifter and switch cover. It's messed up but not too bad. How can I remove it properly without damaging it more? I didn't think it would be this tricky. Thanks!

Search on Pelican website

Did you do a search for this problem on the website? I'm gonna look after I write this and will let you know what i find and then will post it...since you're new to the site. Best bet is to always search the threads for info, then post your questions.

I hope this works. Looks like it did. I'll get some better ones in the shade.

Ouch.

That looks like it's similar to the W210s except it looks like all one piece from the hazard button down around the bend to the mirror switch. You have the same radio and climate controller as I do.

On my W210 it is multiple pieces, the upper, the ash tray, and the shifter part are all different pieces. The part around the shifter just lifts up, it is held by friction catches.

On the W210 the upper panel (radio, climate control, hazard switches) is held by screws behind the radio and climate controls. If you get a set of DIN radio removal keys and pull the radio and climate controller you might find some screws there at a 45 degree angle in the edge of the opening.
