I am trying to do some research on the white decal that is on the front windshield of the passenger side and would like some imput form all of you....

Here is what I know so far:

These decals seem to only be on U.S. models....I have yet to see one on a European model (unless someone puts one on)

I know the first decals said "A Daimler Benz Product" where as the new ones that are available now for $.85 to $1.50 from the dealers say "A Mercedes Benz Product".

My three questions are these:

1) When did they start putting them on the American cars...I think I have seen them on cars back to 1975.....but how about before that??

2) When did they switch from Daimler to Mercedes on the decal....???

3) Did an American 1974 450 SL have a white decal on the windshield???

These questions are kind of trivial....just trying to expand my knowledge.

my 1988 560sel had original windshield with sticker that said-A Daimler Benz Product - replaced windshield last year with OEM and the sticker they gave me with it said A Daimler Benz Product - just my experience

my 1992 300ce has a mercedes benz product One I believe. I'll check when I go to see my baby at the bodyshop...

Last week I picked one up for the 560 at the dealer - $1.75, states "a Daimler-Benz Product". They did ask me the year at the parts counter, perhaps to issue the correct label.

i HAVE A '94 S320 AND A '00 C280 AND BOTH HAVE "A MERCEDES-BENZ PRODUCT" DECAL.

i believe the new stickers say mercedes benz although there is still a supply of daimler benz stickers out there. call the 800 number and they'll send you one for free. just had my windshield replaced and it didn't have the sticker so i called them to ask about it and the sticker arrived in the mail the following day - free!
