Paint and

2002 mb c230k hood and lift gate panel paint has what looks like disease after a detail
Body shop says strip and repaint they say they see layers of paint but bought vehicle 'new used' and since 2003 I never had painted
So what is clouding vehicle so if I pay $$$ to strip repaint hood and lift gate so won't happen again
Thanks

I'm not quite sure what your question is - but I can say that paint from that era is known to be total toss. It was the time when EU legislation decided to say only water based paint was allowed to be used. They have now turned water based paint into a reliable product but it took some time to get it right.

Most W202s here in Holland are in worse condition than the older W201s and the W210s don't fare so good either. Rust is killing these Mercedes models much faster than it has done before.
