Instrument Cluster LED upgrade

Hello, I am so pleased with my instrument cluster rebuild that I wanted to share with you. I was in the process of changing the head gasket on my 92' 300D and decided I was going to pull the cluster and get it upgraded since my dimmer/rheostat was going out anyway. My cylinder head was going to a machine shop so I had plenty of time to ship the cluster out for this. I searched around the web and came across MBCluster.com. I read through his page and decided I was going to go with the LED upgrade so I contacted him to inquire about the process of shipping it to him and what options I could choose. I was going for the LED upgrade and fresh fluorescent needle paint. James @ MBCluster then offered me an option that he has been working on which included a RGB led bulbs that can be changed to which ever color or intensity that you desire. To me, this sounded pretty cool so I chose this option.

Anyway, got the cluster boxed up and mailed to James. It took a little less than a week and the package was on its way back to me. James contacted me several times and even sent some pictures of the process of installing the upgrades so he definitely had good communication throughout everything. Got the cluster back and installed it back into the old diesel. Turned the light switch on and the cluster came to life brighter than ever, brighter than the day the car was built. So to change colors and brightness of the new LED's I connect the Arduino cable (USB) to my laptop and pull up the program. I had a little issue with this but all I needed was to download a different version of the software, in which James assisted me here too. Once done with that I then scrolled through all the colors and intensities. I'd have to say, the upgraded cluster is pretty amazing. I like the cluster lit up in blue because it really brings out the fluorescent orange needles. But I also like red because it's great for night driving. Regardless, this cluster is unlike any other out there and as far as colors and brightness it is capable of anything.

I have 4 pictures of the cluster, but they don't do it justice. James posted a video of the upgraded cluster on youtube and I think his website. Go to youtube and search MBCluster - RGB led upgrade or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aIOH8-Dgg0 and you can watch the video of my cluster. If anyone is looking to getting their cluster rebuilt I definitely recommend MBCluster, and he has other options as well.
