Gravel Road
I recently bought a 1996 SL600, which is the good news. The bad news is that I live on an old farmstead, and have two miles of gravel before I get to pavement. I am resigned to lots of washing and waxing, and low speeds to get in and out. I am already noting dulling of the plastic side panels where I am almost continously washing off accumulated dirt. Short of running boards (works for my truck) can anyone suggest products or procedures to keep these parts shiney?

Griots garage, 3M and other companies sell these products that are clear and you stick to the hood, lower panels, etc.
These will prevent rock chips, etc. If you dont want to do this, then you can apply a few coats of wax on the lower panels, this will make it harder for stuff the stick to it and offer more protection. |
