Angry 560SL Black Pearl

I challenge anyone to offer a correct fix for the paint on my car that woun't shine or gloss.

It drove me so nuts, I had the car re-painted and re-clear coated. It still does not shine to my satisfaction.

Any resolutions out there?

Was the car color sanded and polished after the new paint job?

I'm not so sure pearl has the same shine as regular paint.

There has to be a paint and body forum that could answer then be sure to post the results here.

Might have to polish the car.

1. Wash & Clay Bar
2. Heavy Cut
3. Medium Cut
4. Finishing Polish
5. Sealant
6. Wax

Take a look at this guide

Tom, what has the staff at the shop where you had your 560SL repainted said about your complaint? I had a Black Pearl Metallic 1992 300CE with original paint that had a fine shine to it ... not as deep & rich a color as a standard black, but more than acceptable for a metallic paint ... a great looking color.

A quality repaint should cost thousands of dollars, and you typically get what you pay for. So, unless you spent $4,000 to $5,000 you likely got what you paid for. Best to see some examples of a paint shop's work before signing a contract.
