300D Seat Compatibility
As I don't have both side by side... only the 300. I was wondering are the front driver and passenger seats the same on the 300 as the 350. This would be for the 1987-1992 years. Thank you for your help.

You need to be more clear. The 300D spans different chassis...which year are you talking about? I.e. what is the year/model of donor seat and year/model of the car to receive the seat? Then maybe someone could chime in who has done this.
Swapping within chassis = yes, it will work. Swapping between different chassis---well some parts may not fit exactly, but others may. For instance, I'm looking at both a w123 seat bottom spring and a w124 seat bottom spring (both completely bare and stripped of all parts except the spring and metal frame). Both have bolt holes in the same spots but the w124 has beefier springs than the w123 chassis seat spring frame. So you may just have to strip the seats down to bare bones to find out and then put them back together.

I have a w124 and was curious what if any interior parts from a W126 would fit. Probably nothing but just curious.

W123 Seat Spring Alternatives
Wait ~
Are you saying I can use a newer , W-124 lower seat spring in my old W-123 for improved firmness ? . The driver's side spring just broke in SWMBO's daily driver '81 240D .
