w126 Interior Door Handle / Armrest

So I tried posting this in the Parts wanted section but didn't have any replies, so I thought I would try a post here. Both of my front door interior door handle / arm rests for my 1981 300sd w126 broke in the same place which is the middle connector for the arm rest - between the handle and the door. This is a small squarish piece that has two screws connecting it to the door handle and a larger screw connecting it to the door.

Both of the arm rests middle connectors broke in the same place which is the plastic area that the screw that connects it to the door goes through.

The piece looks like it is designed to be replaced in situations like this, however I have not been able to find this replacement part? The rest of the door handle on both doors is just fine, just this middle portion / connector.

Does anyone have any leads on where I can get a replacement or how I can try to fix this aside from purchasing an entire used door arm rest / handle?

Might be worth while to replace the whole handle. Mine were also broken where yours are and it seems later handles are one peice. I'm pulling the set for my car this weekend from a junkyard car.

What colour is your interior? There are quite a few w126's in a yard near me that I've been pulling parts from.

Hi Thanks for the reply - just saw it! My interior is all black - but the part itself seems pretty difficult to find so happy to just get the part - I figure I can paint or dye it and no one would be the wiser based on where it sits under the handle

There is a black car at the local pick and pull near me. I can take a look at the arm rests and see how they look.

I've got a set of black armrests with the moulded on centre support. Let me know if you may be interested in them.
