Remove A pillar trim?

Hi all. I'd like to run a couple wires to the area of my rear view mirror. Normally, I'd just pop off an A pillar trim and go for it.

I mentioned it to my mechanic tonight. He said "yeah, but it's hard. Make sure you know what you're doing". So far this is the only task I haven't been able to find help for online even after copious searching.

Can anyone walk me through what I need to know? It would be much appreciated.

In a thread for a different model said something along the lines of "Get the DVD".Is there a DVD for W126?

i use a teflon wedge about 8" long and 1" wide and it goes from pointed to about 1" thick. my mechanic sourced it for me. Simply push the pointy end of the wedge behind the pillar trim on the side facing you and it comes off - the direction away from the steel pillar itself. If i remember correctly you have to move the rubber seam cover aside but that's pretty obvious. The trim is attached to the pillar with clips and it can be driven away from the pillar with the wedge. Push the trim forward toward the windshield as you push the wedge in. Do it about 3" up from the bottom and also 3" down from the top because this is approximately where the clips are located. There are specific directions for this in the Factory Service Manual body and trim section also, and pictures are included. I hope this helps.

Is this a W126 procedure? or other chassis? or multiple chassis? Thank you.
