Power windows W123 not working
Before I replace both switches, can anyone tell me some alternate reason for both sides to go at the same time and how to find out?
Drivers side switch was replaced in the last two years. I did replace the fuses. Thanks in advance. |
Too late...I replaced both switch blocks, no joy. Revisited the fuse box. Found a faulty fuse (looked okay) hidden under a jumper.
Now on to the rear wheel bearings. |
Power window switches and questions
Bought my 123 about a year ago. Some windows operable, was cautioned about them, etc. Have spent most time on fuel injection and getting it running. Recent test drive, I began to lower right rear window and it retracted most of the way down and proceeded to hear loud banging in the door that lasted a while then stopped. At home the right switch was floppy and underneath it was basically fried, fuse blown, etc. I have new switches, fuses, and will be pulling the door cover to have a look inside as next step. May find the regulator is bad, but if it looks in place, I don't want to install the new switches for fear of damaging them. What do forum members advise me to proceed? Jarip45
