Detailing Wood
Just spent over twelve hours on the old 1997 C280 the past few days detailing the inside and outside.
Wanted to pass along something that found to keep that wood looking like new. I first applied Meguiars #17 (plastic cleaner)...Allowed it to dry...Removed...Then #10 (plastic polish)...Removed Looks absoluely fabulous. Also, I used the Meguairs Ultimate Wipes only. No terry towels!! Hope this helps! |

I've got a good one for wood to. You apply this after applying the Meguiars #17 plastic polish.
It's Piano Polish and it's reflective qualities are amazing. You can purchase a spray version and spray it onto a very soft cloth and apply it to the wood. Buff off the residue and you've just achieved magnificent shine. It's a great way to maintain your wood.

I have been using Johnson furniture wax, the yellow can. I'll have to try the plastic polish trick. Any ideas as to why plastic polish works so well on a urethane finish?

Where can I find that plastic polish? Ive looked everywhere around here (napa, andvanced auto parts, walmart, autozone) and I just cant find it.
Also has anyone else gotten any funny looks after you told people that you waxed your wood? People just have sick minds.

I got mine at Bumper to Bumper here in MN. You might have luck by calling Napa and see if they can order it for you. They carry or have access to most of the products!
