re-install 2002 interior rear view mirror

2002 c230 Kompressor Coupe.
Repaired motor controlling movement of panoramic sun roof. In process had to remove interior rearview mirror per u-tube by twisting it off. That was easy but getting mirror bracket re-seated into bracket that holds the mirror in a firm position in front of the overhead console is impossible. Found one suggestion on regular (non-Peach Parts) Mercedes Forum that recommended twisting it back on by turning it clock wise and pushing up. ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?
