Since so many people are a bit down on ArmorAll these days,

I'd like to ask for recommendations for alternatives: I've got two almost new tires which I will need to store for a year or more (removed from my '85 300TD when I purchased it to fit something more worthy of its performance capabilities, but saved for future use on the front of my old Datsun pickup). They are being stored in the garage, up on the rafters where it is often well over 100F, but not exposed to any sunlight, nor much electric motor ozone. What, if anything, should I smear or spray on the sidewalls and tread?

I use Eagle 1 wet tire shine, it works pretty well.

Meguiars Endurance

Best stuff I have ever used. Smells like strong grape soda, which I don't like, but the stuff looks great and lasts longer than any I have ever used.

I bought a $7 bottle of pure silicone at the hardware store. I don't know if it's good for the rubber or not, but it looks VERY good on the tires and exterior rubber of the car, and last much longer than anything else I've used.

I'll second the use of Mcguirer's Endurance. Goes on easy and really does last a long time.

Use nothing.

No reason why the consumer culture should dictate how we MB owners treat our tires!

The tyre in store won't be hurt by using nothing. Storing tyres has a lot to do with the environment around it than putting chemicals on it. Don't store where there is direct heat or sunshine, and absolutely not drenched in water.

It is best stored hung instead of left on garage floor burdened by the weight of the car (then again, store for how long?).

If you insist on putting some cosmetics on, WURTH's Rubber conditioner might be a good reference.

And do remember to inflate it at around 40 to 45 psi.
