After a really through cleaning of the engine and compartment, I used a can of clear engine paint with great success. Cleans up the dull finish on the aircleaner and engine block. And....since it is clear, overspray is not really an issue. Or course you need to make sure it is engine paint so that it is heat resistant. Some folks may not like it, but on my older 240D it looks superb after 3 years

Glad you have had good luck with this. My wife's 735iL had this done to it and I cannot get the stuff off. It has yellowed and looks awful. I have heard others say bad stuff as well. You may have just been one of the lucky ones!

It's amazing how well it looks even after 1 month. BTW, haven't seen any yellowing yet.

No, Bill, I don't use it for the engine. . as shown in MENU#22. . . advise all to read the warning.

And if you still use it, then look at MENU#4a for the 'consequences' of its use!
