Angry Help in cleaning the trim around windows..

The problem I am currently experiencing with my 99 ml 430, is the stubborn white residue on the trim around my windows...I will clean it the one day, and it will look great....a few days later ..presto... back again. I do not know if it is old wax built-up or what...but it looks horrible....any help would be appreciated....

Angry window trim going whitish

I am having this on my C180 1994 and am wondering if it is caused by some chemical in either my wash and wax potion or the actual wax potion or the tap water I am using for the car. Is it acidic damage or oxidation I really don't know, but sometimes I use the old faithful WD40, or the interior cleaner for the car or soapy water , but it comes back again. I have also tried silvo, brasso and its still not permanent. The trim is aluminium, so too abrasive stuff will damage it beyond repair.

When I detail my car, each step I use 3m Blue Painters Tape to mask the area where the paint cleaner, polish, and wax will go---this limits the product on the rubber, etc, etc..

When I do get the product on the areas, I use a cotton swab and Meguiars #39 and followed by their #40. It's works absolutely awesome. Use the #39 lightly.

Talking stained window trim

I now use the interior cleaners for this and it turns out alright. The black rubber trims or weather strips get blacker, cleaner and will last like this for at least a month without any artificial coating like the tyre black which I haven't tried yet. Has anyone tried this?
