My E280, as I bought it in the Spring. Midnight Blue with mushroom trim.
I've changed from orange to clear repeater indicators on the front wings (sorry - fenders) and I'm saving for some AMG alloys.
I'm keen to keep the "standard" body look myself but have sprayed the radiator grille satin black which I think looks a lot better against the silver horizontal bars and surround, than the standard "mucky" silver/grey plastic finish.
Best car I've ever owned - without any doubt!

Here's a picture of my brother's 87 W124 300D Turbo. It currently has 213,045 miles. He also has a pioneer DEH9200R CD Player with XM radio. Anthracite Grey with Grey Tex interior. Future upgrades include Euro Lights, updated rims, and a euro front license plate.

Is there a topic like this for W123?

KaRaKaN 11-28-2002 04:42 PM

mine has a pioneer KEH-P 7900 R with cassette and cd player ( 6 disks) and 400 watt speakers in the rear and 200 watt in the front and a integrated antenna not a antenna of the outside in the rear but on the front window

Wheel are Ferrari engineering 2 Momo cost around 200 euro !
and tires are Marshall power racer 215/45/ZR17 100 euro a piece not that expensive

This our 1995 emerald green E420 Special Edition. The wheels are OEM 16" from a 2000 model E430.

This post should be in the Open Discussion Forum, could someone please move it over there ? That way we can get much more input.

Here's a picture of my 1986 300E. Opinions and comments are always welcome.

Hey Craig, you E420 looks really nice, have you consider lowering it with some suspensions mods ?

From another angle... ;)

Hey Ernesto-

I like those rims. Where did you get them? I was thinking about switching to these:

Yeah, I want to do some suspension mods, but I think the next mod is an AMG front spoiler. I'm trying to get a group buy, let me know if you're interested. Then tint and suspension.

Hey Craig !

My wheels are Brabus Monoblock IV 17" x 8.5

Those wheels at e-bay look nice, but if I were you I will stay with the AMG's. Your car looks really nice with the 17", and for my own experience that is the biggest size for W124 ( 300E, E300 and E420 ), unless you want to spend time and money on mods.

Double check the offset on those 18's before you buy them.

Always interested on a group buy for ground effects... probably I will go for the front fender/spoiler to start with. Are you still looking to get the new style bodykit from AMG" ?

Dcraig 12-04-2002 02:38 PM

Hmmmmm, link opened for me? Edited the link, might work now.

I think I'm going to stay with the front spoiler for now, and have the lower half painted to match the paint color. I really want to do springs/shocks.

Yes, I was able to open the picture... I edited my posting after...

Naaahhh, keep your car original, with AMG goodies. You know that I also have a car like yours but is a 1995. When you are ready for the spoiler / monotone let me know. I also want to pait the bumpers and lower panels on mine. I know a really professional bodyshop in the Southbay area. Perhaps we can get a better price for both cars... let me know !

chaser234 12-04-2002 04:17 PM

Ernesto- i love the monotone, how much did that set you back? i'm thinking about having it done to my 86 300E and was wondering if you could give me some details (i.e. how you like it, how much it costs, quality, time, etc) thanks a lot
