Question Turtle Wax chrome polish...any good?

I happened to see a bottle of this stuff at Long's tonight and decided to grab it. Haven't opened it yet, though. Any thoughts/comments on it? Also, when it says to apply, is that in a buffing motion or do you just get the stuff on and let it sit? The instructions say to "apply" it, let it dry to a haze, and buff it out...kinda like Rain-X.

I assume that everything that's chrome on a 123's actual metal

And sorry for the dumb question; as I've mentioned before, this is the first vehicle that I've had that's worth the trouble to make it look nice. And maybe someday I'll finally make Lake Daimler a permanent dry lake so I can wash and wax the paint on the car

I've used it on my old Caddy and Oldsmo's with tons of chrome-- works nice. There are probably "better" products out there, but the price will certainly reflect that.

I've used it and others with no success. The chrome on my 420 is kinda cloudy or oxidized looking I'm not sure why. If anyone has a superior product I'd appreciate any feedback, as I need to find something to make it shine like new. Thanks

The aluminum trim cloudiness is a different issue than problems with metal chrome. The trim on my 560SEL is cloudy as well and yes, the polish doesn't work.

Check out this thread, might be helpful: anyone try this to clean oxydation on anodized aluminum trim?

Some of it's aluminum?

...how do you tell the difference? I'm guessing that the Turtle Wax stuff shouldn't be used on the aluminum...?

On my 560SEL, most of the bright-work is aluminum (around all the windows). Regular chrome on the bumpers and then there's the grill of course.
