Greeting fellow enthusiast !!!! I recently purchase a 1996 Mercedes Benz- 320 in immaculate condition . The only problem on its look its the head lights , they look old , they are opaque , my question is if there is any product or any thing to get them to look newer than what there really are ? Please help me get my babe back in shape !!!!

You are in luck my friend; I had the same problem and I fixed it. Mine were so bad they felt like pavement (not smooth like plastic) and they looked yellowish and cloudy. Click HERE for the info.

Also, use the SEARCH function you get instant answers. That is how I looked up my old question about headlights.

Since you're new I should also point out that you can buy MB parts at a great discount from this site, click on FASTLANE to look it up yourself and if it's not listed try PARTSSHOP; if it isn't there call Phil at the 1-800 number and he can usually get it. they are FAST, too.

Welcome to MercedesShop forums.

Spaces in sig so as not to screw up the SEARCH; every time someone searches for that MB they don't want my sig!

Thanks aTOMic. I see you polished yours some time ago. How did your lens hold up over time? Also, I went to the site you posted, but are not sure exactly what you used. Did you have to get the paste as well as the cleaning cloth? and not sure which cloth did you used as there are several types.

Also, this recent thread Opaque Head Lights
also discussed the same problem and provided link to your earlier thread. Thanks

I had a sample kit since I am in the abrasive business. I did not use their polish. Mine is the MicroMesh Original (as opposed to MX or A/O). I recommend the "aquarium kit" P/N 3KAQK ($15.00). It has their 1800 grit as the coarsest , which is the coarsest I needed to remove the severe crazing on my lights. I did not have any of their liquid but I did use some plastic polish from AutoZone; I have since found that MicroMesh recommends against using regular polishes because their solvents can penetrate the porous plastic and cause future damage. Mine are beginning to show some slight cloudiness, I bought some of their polish today to go at it again. After I polished them (9/16/01) they were absolutely clear - dramatically different from their original yellow cloudy appearance.

P.S. Here is a Link to Micro-Mesh website

Headlight Lens Polished

I finally bought a headlight lens kit from micro-surface as suggested by aTOMic. It worked. See my pictures posted here:
