Chipsaway
New to the board, and have a question. I had the misfortune of having my until recently flawless car damaged during a visit to my dealer's service department. Believe it or not a picture fell about ten feet down on to my hood. No dents, but there were a number of superficial scratches, most of which polished out. However there was a small area, smaller than a dime, where the damage went down to primer. The dealer did the usual repair of putting a drop of paint on, letting it dry, sanding, etc. The problem is that the end result was not that good, and the sanding took another small area down to the point where you can just begin to see the primer. I do not want to repaint my hood, even though the dealer would be more than happy to do so at their expense. I have been looking into other options, and the only one that I have found that seems good is Chipsaway. ( www.chipsaway.com) I am told that their work is extremely good. Does anyone have any experience with them? It seems odd that they have been in business for as long as they have without being well known. (After all they charge considerably less than repainting a panel.) I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has had work done using their system, or if anyone knows of any other system that might be advisable given my situation. I really want to keep my factory paint. Thanks in advance, this is a great board.
