Is there any kind of paint warrenty for the 2nd owner of a Benz? My 96 C280 is showing spots on the trunk where the clearcoat is starting to go bad. I take extensive care of the paint, everywhere else on the car looks brand new, anyone who doesnt know otherwise thinks it is new! So it hasnt been a matter of not taking care of the paint. The spots are about the size of a raindrop, and appear on the trunk, and a couple on the roof in front of the sunroof.

Also, I havent/dont use power buffers or power anything, so its not a matter of pushing to hard while using one.

Any help would be great. Thanks

when you say going bad, what do you mean? Is the clearcoat gone in spots or is the lustre gone in spots. If you could post a pic of an example it might help.

Acid rain sounds like the culprit. When rain dries on the car it leaves behind the acid and minerals from the rain. When the sun hits it, it etches the paint.

If it's not etched, just stained, cleaning clay might work to remove the contaminants. Follow up with polish and wax.
