Hood blankets
Does anyone know of an aftermarket source for items such as hood blankets for older 126 models etc. PS Thanks everyone for the responses to mt previous questions.

When you say "hood blanket" do you mean the hood pad underneath the hood. These can be had from several different sources.

Hood Pad
Ordered mine from FastLane on Wed. and it was setting on the porch when I came home. Couldn't resist to do a "dry fit" last night. Perfect can't wait till Saturday.

Don't skimp on the adhesive, put as much as you can on the pad and hood, especially in the middle where it's likely to sag.
 I found that a paint brush roller made a pretty good tool for smoothing out the pad while sticking it on. The hood sure looks pretty after it's on!

Piece of Cake
Paint roller is a slick deal - It's done used the entire large can of 3M Super 77. Extra set of hands helpful. Was quick enough to realize that overspary was drifiting underhood to windshield and got that covered as well. One of those plastic tools that you use to take off bicycle tires is helpfull to tuck on the edges.
No dunce hat today - even got in on the right side of the hood.

Haven't done this or anything, but I just want to get your opinions. Dynamat makes a insulation made for hoods. You can cover the entire underhood, and your whole hood pad will be a shiny silver. However, what would you think about putting the Dynamat just in the recesses in the hood and then putting the MB pad over it?
