I have a large scratch on my '88 560sl. It's about 5 inches long and goes through to the metal in places. I have touch up paint fromt he dealer. What's the best way to repair it? What kind of clear coat should I get and where can I get it? Thanks.

For a long scratch that varies in depth and goes all the way to metal, I don't think that touch up paint alone will result in much more than a more visible scratch, since applying the paint freehand is impossible to get right. Some members here have found the Langka paint scratch system very good.
