Found a new use for the clay bar!

Hello Board,
Today I was washing my car and noticed that my windshield would just not get clean. I scrubbed and scrubbed with a sponge, even a squeegee and nothing!I finally broke out some Clay Magic and clayed my windshield(and rear glass)! The results were spectacular. The 16 years worth of build up on my windshield was gone in an instant!

If you ever decide to clay your car, clay some build up off your windshield too.

Great idea! I tried claying my car for the first time last week...body paint, chrome trim and plastic cladding....outstanding!!

Any other uses for clay?

Call me a clay freak but, I clayed my door jambs, corner lights, and tail lights also! I removed a lot of junk off my car.

Claying Glass......works like a charm.

Also try clay on your clearcoated wheels. It is amazing how well it removes etched in brake dust and leaves a glass like finish. It also works well on chromed wheels.

Clays is also a great way to remove adhesives from paint when your debadging.

It's a Multi-Purpose automobile exterior cleaner.

You can find it at Pep Boys and Auto Zone. The latter carries Meguires which is cheaper but some say it doesn't work as well as clay magic or Mothers. I've used Meguires and have no complaints.

About Meguiar's clay -

Meguiar's world headquarters is in Irvine, CA, and they held a detailing training day last year during the summer for Mercedesshop.com members.

They explained that the early batch of detailing clay was too soft and had problems with streaking, etc.

It has since been replaced with the newer clay and it is very good.

They also have clay sold in detailing shops that is different than that available at retail.

Guys,

This clay sounds like a wonder cure-all !

But........surely if it removes crap so easily it must be quite abrasive?

Are you sure you can't see minute scratches in the paintwork if you catch it in the right light?

Reservations aside, I want some.........

Must find out if it's available here.

It is a Very very very fine micro abrasive, a terry cloth does more damage to the paint that the clay bar. I have checked my car out all over. In 12 o clock sun, ther are no nasty looking scratches. The clay cleans the debris off the clearcoat,it does not harm the clearcoat.
