Just wonder why you want to clay a new paint job? Clay is for getting contaminants off the surface. If you want to get the dirt out of the paint job, you need to sand and buff it soon, as the longer it sets up, the harder it gets and it gets a lot harder to get all the scratches out. I wouldn't wax it for at least a month if the weather is hot. A lot longer if it's cold out.
