Does MB still put the "Quality Sticker" on the windshield?

This is on my '84 300SD.

Anyone know what VPC stands for?

If I recall correctly, all the older models came with one. If you don't have one, it either got peeled off, or your windshield was replaced. Do you have the "Daimler Benz Product" sticker on the lower corner?

Oh, duh...for some reason, I didn't realize that it was on the front windshield. I don't have one' cause the windshield was replaced on my car about 6 months before I bought it...

VPC is the old "Vehicle Preparation Center" system MB had.
They had several VPC's scattered around the country.
For the Central Zone it was near Chicago, in Carol Stream I believe. The cars would get checked out there before shipment to the dealers by truck, now it's all done "in port", when they come off of the ships before rail or truck shipment, but you never hear VPC mentioned anymore like when they had these little "satellite" VPC's.
They would put these VPC Quality stickers on after they checked them out, you'd also see VPC stickers on the batteries to show they tested OK too.

When I worked at the car wash/detaling this guy had a 92 w140 300SE that had that VPC sticker on it.

My w126 doesnt have it.....did it go through the VPC control back in the day?
