My Smoke-silver 560sl has dark spots on some the the edges, particulary near the hood and trunk lid at the seams and edges. I've tried the clay bar, even a little polishing compound just to see but no luck.

Would this be oxidation or ? Is there something else I can try?
Even after a good wax, the overall paint is dull.
