Windshield and Overspray

Well I thought I had my 300E parked in a safe place while I was sealing the outside of my cedar house. I guess the wind got a hold of a little of the sealer and I have tiny little specs of sealer on the car and windshield.

Anyone know of a safe way to clean this off the windshield? SOS pad? or some kind of abrasive cleaner like AJAX?

Thanks for the help,
Chris

Not sure if this would work but it's worth a try. A claybar is designed to safely remove overspray from paint, it might work on the glass as well.

If not you can try glass cleaner and #00 Steel Wool. Just be careful of the trim and painted surfaces when using the steel wool. (consider taping the trim)

When I worked at a body shop, the trick to removing overspray from a windshield is to use those 2 inch single edged razor blades. Buy a couple and scrape the glass at an angle. The overspray will come off and you will not put any scratches on the glass. Be careful when holding the blade, we don't want any accidents!

If you use a very fine steel wool like stated earlier you will be fine. Steel Wool is used to polish glass anyway. I use an SOS or Brillo(its one or the other, read the box it will tell you if its safe on glass) bad all the time on my windshield.

I wouldn't use paint thinner b/ it can make a mess i.e. smear the paint overspray.

Good Luck,
