I used some of that great Leatherique Rejuvenator oil and Pristine clean on my steering wheel and it actually made it worse!

I couldn’t wait for a reply, so I went to the grocery store and purchased KIWI Shoe Cream. It is perfect!

Does it come off on your hands?

What the Leatherique likely did was loosen up some of the 'hand gunk' that had accumulated on the wheel over the years. Had you kept wiping the steering wheel down with the Leatherique you'd have gotten the same results as you did with the shoe polish.
Been there and done that on my 300D.

KIWI Cream better than Leatherique
I am absolutely positive that if I kept using the Leatherique, I would have a hole in my steering wheel. The KIWI Cream shoe polish is amazing. After the excess is removed and it is buffed to a shine with a towel, the leather is like brand new. There is no chance for anything to come off on your hands and the wheel feels great. The rough deteriorating leather becomes smooth and I have no fear that I will need a new wheel. I was really worried about it until I used the polish. Just think of a scuffed-up old pair of shoes and how nice they look after a polish. It really works! I don't know about other types of polish, but the "KIWI Cream" was perfect.
