Sos

You do not want to know the whole story. I need advice on how to treat a series of SOS pad scratch marks on my orion blue C230K
I already searched the detailing posts and learned about the Mag's products- used their step system wash/cleaner/polish and wax. The store did not have Scratch X so I purchased a 3M product supposedly similar- so now I have glistening and shiny SOS pad scratch marks polka dotting the vehicle.

Now what?

Thanks-

OUCH, SOS on a car.

Well basically the clearcoat on the car is scratched and the only way to eliminate these scratches is by removing clearcoat are the scratches until the surface is even. I'd say the only real way to achieve this is to bring the car to a detail shop and ask them to buff just the scratched areas until they're gone. Follow up with a hand polish and wax and you should be ok. Before starting the buffing have them take a paint depth measurement and compare it to areas without the scratches, this will insure you have enough clearcoat to work with. Good luck.

You may want to try wet sanding with 2000 grit paper and then compounding with 3m microfinishing compound and then wax.
remember to add a little soap to the water you sand with.
Good luck
