Well, my friend's 2003 C240 was in an accident.. had it towed to the dealer's own body shop (Mercedes of Palm Beach- formally Gulf Stream...) and I go to this awsome looking shop.... And what do I see? PPG paint? They said they don't use Glasurit or Sikkens anymore... What is going on? PPG is now OEM? Please set me straight! These guys are supposed to be like the factory Mercedes body guys too.

There is usually a lot of politics involved in getting a line of paint into a body shop,,, especially a high end one, and the quality of the product usually has no bearing on the decision. I personally never cared for PPG paints as they tend to rush, IMHO, products to the market that don't seem to be fully proven. PPG may provide some of the OEM paint for some Benzes now, especially the ones made in the states,,, I don't know.

Try getting OEM Sekurit MB Glass, it's nearly impossible. Dealerships only carry the PPG OEM Glass. It's the same with parts, they're not made to the same standards as what was existing on the car. I've noticed cheaper materials and coating throughout. I wouldn't doubt that PPG is a supplier of the newer US made MB's. Oh well.
